The Weekend
Schedule & Key Event Info
We are so grateful to everyone for making the trip to Italy in July! Below is a schedule of weekend events - we can’t wait to welcome everyone to Artimino! Every event over the course of the weekend will take place at the main hotel property, which is a 10 minute walk (or 2 minute shuttle) from the Borgo (Artimino village), but in slightly different locations within the estate. When using Google Maps, use the specific links/addresses below.
Tenuta di Artimino
Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII
59015 Artimino (Carmignano), Prato, Italy
We invite you to kick off the weekend in a relaxed style. Think sundresses, linen shirts, and smart trousers or tailored shorts - comfortable enough to enjoy the outdoor terrace but elevated enough for a Shelby Chic event. Note that the event is outside and on grass, so block heels, wedges, or flats are encouraged.
Getting There
The restaurant is across from the hotel, and a short 10 minute walk down the Cypress tree-lined avenue from the Borgo. There are also shuttles available to take you back and forth, which you can meet by Borgo reception.
Think elevated Tuscan garden party. Semi-formal midi or maxi dresses for the ladies. A summer / linen suit or tailored trousers with a sports jacket - no tie required! Please note that most of the evening will take place outdoors in the Tuscan sunshine and on grass or gravel. We recommend light silks, linens, and chiffons. For footwear, we recommend block heels, wedges, or flats for the women and loafers, dress shoes, or smart leather shoes for the men.
Getting There
The villa is to the right of the fork at the entrance to the hotel, it is hard to miss (see photo below). This is a 12 minute walk down the Cypress tree-lined avenue from the Borgo. There are also shuttles available to take you back and forth, which you can meet by Borgo reception. For guests not staying on site, there is a separate entrance around the back (specific directions to be provided).
Sunday 4 July 2027
Recovery Day
No formal events will be hosted on Sunday, however Shelby and Andy plan to lounge at the Tenuta di Artimino hotel pool all day, and would love for people to stop by to hang with the newlyweds!
Getting There
Travel
Flying
Tenuta di Artimino is about a 30 minute drive from Florence and Florence Airport (FLR - Amerigo Vespucci Airport) and 50 minutes from Pisa International Airport (PSA - Galileo Galilei Airport).
For guests flying from London, there are direct flights to Florence and Pisa. While Pisa flights are often cheaper, it is cheaper and easier to get to the venue from Florence.
For guests flying from the US, there are unfortunately no non-stop flights to Florence or Pisa. We recommend a connecting flight, or there is the option to fly non-stop to Rome and travel by car (3.5 hours) or train (under 2 hours into central Florence followed by 35 minute taxi or car to the venue).
Transportation from the Airports
While taxis are often readily available from the airport, it is not a guarantee. We highly recommend booking transportation in advance (taxis, private transfers, rental cars, and trains). Trains can also be unreliable due to frequent strikes. As the event gets closer, we will be in touch with more information and tips for transportation.
Renting a Car and Driving in Italy
If you plan to rent a car, please note that if your license wasn’t issued in the EU or the UK, Italy requires an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside it. In the US you can get one from AAA before you travel.
Watch for ZTL (limited traffic) zones in Florence and many town centers. Driving into one without a permit can bring a fine in the mail months later.
Both events will take place at Tenuta di Artimino
Tenuta di Artimino
Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII

The Friday and Saturday events are in slightly different locations within the estate, so when using Google Maps, please enter:
Both the Friday Welcome Dinner and Saturday Wedding will take place at Tenuta di Artimino, a historic Tuscan estate in the Carmignano region, comprised of a 4-star hotel and village apartments (the “Borgo”). It is approximately 30 minutes outside of Florence. We recommend staying on-site and expect that the majority of guests will do so.
That said, you are welcome to book any hotel, Airbnb, or villa that works best for you. Just keep in mind that you will need to arrange your own transportation to and from the events in advance, as taxis are not readily available in the area.
Staying at Tenuta di Artimino
Tenuta di Artimino is a four-star Meliá Collection property offering a charming, authentic Tuscan experience. There are two accommodation options to be considered on the estate:
HHotel Paggeria Medicea
BBorgo di Artimino
Option 1
Borgo di Artimino
The entirety of the Borgo has been reserved exclusively for our wedding guests, and is where most of our guests will be staying.
The Borgo consists of studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments located within Artimino’s historic medieval village, less than half a mile from the Villa (10-12 minute walk). Shuttles will run between the Borgo and the Villa throughout the day and evening, making it very easy to get back and forth.
Option 2
Hotel Paggeria Medicea
The main hotel building is located immediately next to Villa La Ferdinanda and the locations for both the Friday and Saturday events. We recommend the hotel for guests with mobility concerns, or if you just prefer the convenience. We have reserved a limited number of rooms in the hotel. Please contact us if you would like to book and there are none available.
All rooms can only be booked through our wedding link. If you want to stay at the Borgo, make sure to select a room that says “Borgo.” The hotel rooms are called “Style,” “Singular,” and “Extra Singular.”
Our wedding link currently allows reservations for July 2–July 4 only. If you would like to arrive earlier or extend your stay after the wedding weekend, or have questions about room categories or specific accommodations, please contact the hotel directly using the details below.
It all started at the Old Fountain, a pub just off Old Street in London.
Shelby was there celebrating a friend’s birthday when she caught the eye of a particularly cute bartender who was pouring her very generous glasses of wine.
Whether it was the wine or the charm of the man pouring it, we’ll never know, but Shelby decided to make the first move and ask Andy out. By the end of the night, they shared their first kiss across the bar.
Following that, Andy went a little quiet, insisting he “wasn’t looking for anything serious.” Luckily, Shelby is not one to be easily discouraged and a few weeks later, they went on their first proper date.
Shelby arrived 45 minutes late and Andy, having made productive use of the time, was already three Guinnesses deep, but somehow, it was the beginning of everything.
They have been inseparable ever since.
Some of their earliest memories as a couple were made on their first trip to Florence and the rolling hills of Tuscany, so when it came time to choose a wedding destination, it was an easy choice.
In July 2027, Shelby and Andy will return to the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by the people they love most, and they can’t wait to celebrate with you and some generously poured glasses of Italian wine.

The History of
Villa Medicea La Ferdinanda
Shelby and Andy weren’t the first to fall for Artimino, a hilltop in the Tuscan countryside just west of Florence, and neither were the Medici. The Etruscans settled here more than 2,500 years ago, and by the Middle Ages a walled village, Borgo di Artimino, sat at the top.
In 1596, Grand Duke Ferdinando I de’ Medici came through on a hunting trip and fell for it, too. He had Bernardo Buontalenti, architect to the Medici court, build a hunting lodge beside the Borgo, and by 1600 Villa Medicea La Ferdinanda was complete. When you see it, you’ll understand why locals call it Villa dei Cento Camini, the “Villa of the Hundred Chimneys.” Dozens line the roof in all different shapes and sizes. The building next to the Villa housed courtiers, jesters, and pages, which gave it the name Paggeria. Today it is the main hotel on the estate.
In 1608, Galileo Galilei came to teach math to Ferdinando’s son, the future Cosimo II. In 1716, Ferdinando’s great-grandson, Cosimo III, set official boundaries for Carmignano wine, making it one of the first protected wine regions in Europe.
After the Medici line ended, the estate changed hands for more than two centuries, until Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist Giuseppe Olmo bought and restored it in 1989. In 2013, UNESCO named the Villa a World Heritage Site, alongside eleven other Medici villas and two gardens.
Today the Villa, Borgo, and Paggeria are still one estate and still produce Carmignano wine and olive oil from the same hills.
Grand dukes hunted here. Galileo taught here. Generations of farmers built their lives here.
Now, four hundred years later, Shelby and Andy are getting married here.

FAQ
Can I bring a plus one?
We will include the names of those invited on your invitation. We are unable to accommodate additional guests - we hope you understand!
Are children invited?
As much as we love your little ones, the wedding events will be adults only. We hope this gives you a chance to relax and let loose! If you’re bringing your children along for the weekend, we’ll share recommendations for local babysitters closer to the date.
Can I stay off site?
We recommend staying on site and expect that the majority of guests will do so. This is for convenience and the convivial atmosphere!
Please feel free to book any hotel, Airbnb, or villa that works best for you - however do note that this will require you to arrange your own transportation to and from events, which must be pre-booked as taxis are not readily available.
Where can I eat when not at the events?
Breakfast is included in every room and apartment booking at Tenuta di Artimino. Food options are below - note that many have a siesta and close between lunch and dinner!
Biagio Pignatta (at hotel): Friday night welcome dinner will be hosted here. It is also open during the day with a different, more formal menu than what we will be serving
Pool Bar (at hotel): casual drinks and refreshments with a full lunch menu
Cantina del Redi (Borgo - hotel owned): not always open but offers a full, formal menu with indoor and outdoor seating in the Borgo
Bottega Peruzzi: independently owned, local restaurant with large outdoor seating area and delicious Tuscan cuisine
Circolo di Artimino da Mario: independently owned, local, casual restaurant and bar with beautiful views, open until midnight
Da Delfina: independently owned, fine dining restaurant which typically requires reservations
Gelateria La Torre: located right in the Borgo, an independent gelato shop to ensure you get your fill!
What other activities are there?
There is an outdoor pool (and pool bar), as well as a spa where you can book treatments during your stay. We will follow up with more details on other activities you can book, such as local and on site wine tasting.
Note that there is no gym on site - it is more about the eating and drinking for this trip (or a nice walk/run around the property).
